Providing Better Health Services
|
|
Sans proper medical facilities and availability of a skilled doctor, the people of Dhamra and Dosinga had to travel more than 45 kms to the Basudevpur community health centre for health ailments. Keeping in mind the urgent need for health services, the Dhamra Port Company Ltd, opened a Health Centre in Dosinga village which is catering to a population over 50,000 in nine panchayats in the port project periphery. Apart from two full-time doctors, the health centre has nursing, other para-medical staff and health workers. The Health Centre is supported by Tata
Steel Rural Development Society. Door-to-door counseling on
safe motherhood, child care and hygiene issues to the
villagers is being provided to the local villagers along
with regular medical facilities.
