Dhamra Port is being constructed on the eastern coast of India, to the north of mouth of river Dhamra, in Bhadrak district of Orissa. The Dhamra Port when commissioned will be the deepest Port in India, which can handle super capesize vessels up to 180000 DWT with a draught of 18 metres. This deep port will have a cargo handling capacity of 83 million MT per annum. However, during Phase- I the capacity will be 15.25 million MT per annum of coal / limestone & 9.75 million MT per annum of iron ore.

Being in close proximity to the mineral heartland of India, viz.
